Cardinal Engineering is looking for an Engineer Technician to join our growing team in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of civil engineering, has a strong attention to detail, and wants to help turn designs into real-world projects.

The Engineer Technician will work closely with our Project Managers to produce accurate, high-quality engineering drawings for residential, commercial, and municipal land development projects. This role offers the opportunity to develop technical skills, collaborate with an experienced team, and grow within the civil engineering field.

Position Overview

Position Status: Full-Time

Expected Hours: 32-40 hours per week

Salary: $24.04-$27.00 per hour, based on experience

Work Location: Lake Geneva, WI

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Strong technical drafting skills and proficiency with Civil 3D
  • Experience with HydroCAD, WinSLAMM, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
  • Experience drafting plan sets, stormwater management solutions, utility lines, and subdivision plats
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical drafting and sheet preparation
  • Ability to manage deadlines and priorities effectively
  • Strong communnication skills and ability to disucss project details with Project Managers
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-focused environment

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering designs and plan sets for residential and commercial subdivisions, commercial sites, and other land development projects
  • Assist with sanitary and storm sewer, water main, stormwater management, and utility designs
  • Communicate regularly with Project Managers regarding assignments, schedules, and project status
  • Utilize Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WinSLAMM, and other software for drafting and design
  • Prepare required project checklists and documentation
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical project files
  • Complete project revisions accurately and efficiently
  • Troubleshoot technical and software drafting challenges as needed
  • Maintain accurate time and project records
  • Communicate professionally with clients, contrators, Project Managers, and other team members
